My new Telecaster showed up today...I had it sent to the local FedEx, so I retrieved it after work.
It is, in a word, gorgeous. The paint finish is otherworldly...I think until you’ve had an American Fender, you don’t really know what you’re missing. The Mexican guitars are really great now, but this thing, holy shit.
It needs to be setup, action is just a touch high but better than 95% of what you see.
My one and only issue is the pickguard, which is mint green. There are some colors I like a mint guard on (Surf Green with mint...yum) but Lake Placid Blue ain’t one of them. I just ordered a parchment one off an American Standard, so that’ll be perfect.
Anyway, I’m watching the baby so I won’t really get to play it until tomorrow night...but if it plays anything like how it looks/feels, then we’ve got a winner.

Very nice, I like that blue. Have you ever looked at Warmoth’s pickguards? I’m thinking of trying one for my Strat.

Looks great! Time to turn the amp up to 11 and ruin your neighbors night!

Do you take requests? Can you play Wonderwall?
Jokes aside, looks sweet. What do you think you’ll play on it first?

Acceptable answer. I also would have taken Freebird, or In The Presence of Enemies pt. I.

She’s a beauty, nice choice.

I've been on a big Tom Petty thing lately, so that's probably where I'll start.

I bought one from them for an Esquire I built last year, cause I was having trouble finding a mint green 5 hold Esquire guard. They make nice stuff, the fit is usually really good. I went with a genuine Fender one here because I really didn't want to have to drill any new holes.

I dig it. Hopefully I'll have some time to mess with it tomorrow.

Rosewood fingerboard - good choice.

It's funny, I'm usually a maple guy...I could have got the same guitar in vintage blonde with maple, but I didn't like it nearly as much. The blue looks great with the rosewood.
